Patient Care Technician (PCT) course outline

This Patient Care Technician Program is designed to generate the Patient Care Technician, a vital member of the healthcare team, who will be expected to perform clinical and administrative duties in a medical office nursing home and hospital.

The Patient Care Technician will be trained to:

1.)     Carry out clinical procedures

2.)     Conduct routine office-lab procedures

3.)     Perform routine office diagnostic procedures

4.)     EKGs

5.)     Preparing the patient for physical exams

6.)     Taking Vital Signs

The Patient Care Technician will demonstrate knowledge of:

1.)     Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology

2.)     Clinical and Administrative

3.)     EKG

4.)     Phlebotomy procedures

5.)     Infection Control procedures

Requirements for Graduation

Patient Care Technician is a combination of completing the  EKG Technician Course,  Phlebotomy Technician Course and  Nurses Aide Training Program. It’s a total of 196 hours.

Total cost including exams professional liability insurance and drug screening is $4137.04
