Jamie Mirabilio -LPN

Jamie opened Academy of Medical Training LLC in Waterbury in 2009 at the age of 25. Beginning as a CNA school, she added the remaining courses for the Patient Care Technician program a couple years later. In December 2014, with the help of her sister whom she brought on board as Campus Director; she expanded to Torrington as well. Jamie is a Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified Phlebotomy Technician, Patient Care Technician, Medical Assistant and American Heart Association CPR and First Aid Instructor. Jamie and Academy of Medical Training have become a staple in the city of Waterbury, having aided hundreds in the community over the years start their new careers in the healthcare field. Jamie’s drive and love for helping others is what has made her business such a success and why she is respected and admired by so many throughout the community.

Danielle began her career as a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in 2003, graduating at the top of her class from Briarwood College with an associates’ degree in Applied Science. She worked for more than 10 years as the office manager for Munson – Lovetere Funeral Homes, Inc. assisting hundreds of families over the years in their greatest time of need. Soon after her children were born, she succumbed to the high demands of the funeral business. In December 2014 her sister, Jamie Mirabilio, generously offered her a position as Campus Director for a brand new branch of her school that she was opening in Torrington. Danielle was grateful for this wonderful opportunity and was more than happy to accept; turning this amazing school into a family owned and operated business. Danielle looks forward to many years of assisting the people of the Torrington community with beginning their new careers in the healthcare field.

As a CNA with more than twenty years experience, taking care of people has been a very fulfilling and informative learning experience. With such appreciation and knowledge for this medical field, I feel as though it’s my duty to introduce a new generation, to a field that’s in constant need of not only diligent, but also compassionate workers.

Kristin, our “fitness guru ” has been passionate about the medical field since high school. Due to her love for the body and all it’s functions she has pursued numerous certifications in various medical fields. Certified in Personal training and, most recently achieving her Certification as a Phlebotomist, works part time as a Cryotherapy Technician as well as Cool Sculpt Technician at Grace Medical Aesthetics. Kristin is also involved in the sport of bodybuilding; obtaining her pro card her first competition she is determined to be a wonderful and positive example for her young son.
Jessy Barone -RN, CPT

Jessy graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2004 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN). Over the past 13 years, she has worked as an emergency room and ICU nurse at Waterbury Hospital, Hartford Hospital and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She is also a licensed EMT-Paramedic and is a Certified Phlebotomy Technician. Jessy is also certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Jessy also enjoys being a wife and mom to 3 children. For the past 4 years, she has dedicated her time to being the PTO President at her children’s school. Jessy is very passionate and committed to caring for and helping people in health care and the community.
Tracy Burke -CPCT
Office Administrator -Torrington
Tracy is a recent graduate of our Patient Care Technician training program and, therefore, joins
our team already knowing every aspect of all of the classes we offer. Tracy was also a WIOA
grant program participant and is fully aware of the step by step process necessary to complete
the requirements of the program. She will be a great help in guiding future students through
the approval process. She is a Certified Nurses Aide, with several years experience, as well as a
certified Phlebotomy Technician, EKG Technician and Patient Care Technician. Tracy is very
excited to be part of the team that helped her reach her own career goals and looks forward to
assisting the Torrington community begin their new careers in the healthcare field.
